In Ylläs there is a beautiful Husky Ranch where you can drive your dogs through the swamp. The magical light is often showing as fog and the sunrise is turning into sunset without any bright light between the spectacles.
After spending the New Year's eve with my friends I escaped back to the wilderness. It's kind of fun to wander somewhere in the total darkness and get the first impression of the place in a moonlight. In the morning you just wake up to see where you actually are.
Just before the New Years I drove to the small island of Kvaloya and went camping. During the few hours of daylight all I did was watched the whales playing around. From October to Janyary you can watch them right from the beach. Just sit back and enjoy.
Couple weeks ago we got to spend a day in a beautiful wintery landscape. All our trees were covered with a pure white snow. Too bad it only lasted for a day. I wanted to enjoy the most of it so I went to Torronsuo National Park to catch the sunrise located 15km from my school.
In two weeks I’ll be flying out to Lapland and spending my entire Christmas over there. Is anyone else going / coming to Finnish Lapland during the holidays?
