Hi, this is me Eeva Makinen, a photographer and a wilderness hostess based in Finland.
I am a professional wilderness guide. In the past I’ve studied photojournalism and I have a Bachelor’s degree in Traveling Management.
I have a real weakness for traveling. I've lived in USA and Mexico and visited over 60 countries so far. That is why I have dedicated 2017 to traveling in Finland and finding beauty nearby. Next year I will get back to traveling the world - not forgetting home though.
For me happiness is all about freedom. It’s also about waking up in places where you start smiling as soon as you open your eyes. That's where I would love to take you too - either via my pictures or in real life.
At the moment I am also a freelance writer and a photography guide. I have done guiding projects for Visit Finland and articles for outdoor magazines such as Latu & Polku. My photos has been selected for the cover of Retki-magazines 12/15 and 03/16. I have photographed some official National Parks photos for Finland and my photos can be seen on Visit Finland website as well.
